Why did Jesus Christ die upon the cross of Calvary? What were the reasons He did this, and what does it have to do with you and me today?
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.(1 Peter 2:24, KJV).
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. (Matthew 8:17, KJV).
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (Isaiah 53:4, KJV).
So we see that Jesus died for our sins, so we might have righteousness, and by His blood we are healed...
He bore our infirmities and our sicknesses, our grief and our sorrow...
He died for you and me, to be set free!
But there is more....
