And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. [1John 3:5]

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [1John 3:8]

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [1John 3:16]

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. [1John 4:9-10]

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. [1John 4:14-15]
