Don't Stagger!

"He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." (Romans 4:20-25, KJV).

Did you know that God has already said "Yes" to your need? Well then, why haven't you received the answer to your prayer? The example of justification (that is, to be "made fit for heaven") in the Bible is Abraham. Now, as the book of Romans clearly shows, Abraham lived before the law was given. Moses was Abrahams great-great-great-great grandson. There were no laws to obey--yet the Bible clearly says that Abraham was justified--made righteous. How? By faith!

"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:" (Romans 3:20-24, KJV).

And having been justified by faith--we are supposed to live by faith...

"But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith." (Galatians 3:11)

........."The just shall live by faith."

Oh, but there is a problem...you see, when we live by faith, it is easy to stagger--to falter--it's not easy to live by faith. Most of us are much more confident and used to living by our own effort. It is not an easy thing to completely trust God--to let Him rule over our lives entirely--to surrender all to Jesus. But let's go back to our example of living by faith--Abraham....."He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief" You see, here is the problem..God's promises are so awesome, it is hard for us to believe them...." For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us." (2Corinthians 1:20)

God has already said yes to all His promises--to all your needs! When we pray--God says "yes"! So, why don't we have our promise? Because our faith is staggering--we falter--our faith is not big enough to believe God's promise. Obviously we need more faith--so how do we get more faith? "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17)

Get out and hear the word of God! Get filled with Gods Word! Read the Bible--listen to it on tape--sit under anointed Bible teaching whenever you can! God's Word guarantees that if you do this--faith will come. And once you have faith--you won't stagger anymore! God's promises are awesome--we need faith to receive them--and faith comes by hearing the word of God!
