Romans 8 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death."

There is no condemnation to us that have accepted Jesus, we now have and operate under Gods higher law of the spirit; this law completely canceled the law of sin and death,the law we had to live under before Christ came into our lives. Now we can live and operate under Gods higher law of the spirit which brings life and freedom from sin.

Romans 8:3 "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit."

The law can never accomplish God's righteousness, because our flesh is too weak for it, God knew this and has made every provision for us to satisfy His righteousness when we walk in the spirit. Then the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, Romans 4, as above.

Romans 8:5 "For they that are in the flesh do mind the things of the flesh,but they that are of the spirit, the things of the spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace 7 because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither can it be.8 So then,they that are in the flesh cannot please God; 9 but ye are not in the flesh,but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you, now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of His. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness."

The carnal mind is death because it can never please God, it cannot be subject to the laws of God,because of the sinful urgings it contains. It is of the flesh, so it tells the body how to sin more and more. It has to be reborn and renewed spiritually, then, and only then, can it submit to the laws of God and please Him. Then the spirit is alive to righteousness and the body dead to sin"

Romans 8:12 "Therefore brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh,13 for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die, but if ye live thru the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 for as many are led by the spirit of God , are the sons of God."

So thru the spirit we do mortify the deeds of the body, that means to deaden and do away with. An example would be if someone has done you wrong and hurt you, if you were living after the flesh you would go right along with your carnal thinking, and be angry and never forgive them and probably seek some form of revenge. But, if you repent of all that and seek life thru the spirit and submit to Gods' ways of doing things, you will mortify all that anger through putting to death those deeds. The spirit of life will cancel out the spirit of sin and death in you , for it is the greater law and has greater power. The only step we have to take is repentance and lets Gods' higher laws of the kingdom take over and work in our lives. As we practice this over and over when offenses come it will become stronger in us than the urge to sin. We then begin to live as overcomers and victors over the evil in the world because it no longer offends our flesh, we are free.

Praise the name of Jesus, we become transformed into His likeness from the inside, out.
