At the cross of Calvary, Jesus became sin. All sin. Every sin of every man or woman--from the first man to the last. (this includes your sin--all your sin--past present and future) What is sin? Sin is everything that makes us fall short of God's perfection. The perfection of God is described in the law (commandments). If we could uphold all the law--for every minute of our lives, we could be justified before God..however...

"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." (Romans 3:20)

The law has never saved a soul. The purpose of the law is to show us our sin--to show us where we fall short of God's perfection. But at the cross, Jesus, the sinless man, became sin--all sin--your sin--and sacrificed Himself for your sin. The only way to be justified is through faith in His blood sacrifice...

"Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Romans 5:9)

As we said, sin is everything that makes us fall short of God's perfection. Does this not include all sickness and disease? Whether it is physical, spiritual or emotional--Jesus became your sickness--your worry--your grief....

"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:4-5)

The sin sacrifice of Jesus at the cross was for all that sin encompasses. Not only our unrighteousness to the law--but for our total healing--body mind and soul!
