Have You Given Your Life To Jesus?

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." (Matthew 16:24-25)--also see Matthew 10:39,Mark 8:35, Luke 9:24, Luke 17:33,

"He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." (John 12:25)

All four Gospel writers agree that Jesus has decreed that it is absolutely necessary for a person to give their life to God. I think this is so often neglected in our churches today. And I also think that many of us might need to rededicate ourselves to the Lord--give Him our life.

The application of Godly principles is not Christianity. The laws of sowing and reaping--the annointing-generational curses--these are all important things for Christians to understand and apply in their lives. However, it can be easy to just want to receive from the Lord--there is a type of Christianity that says--What can God do for me? How can this Christian thing better my life? This is the problem--people are clinging to their own lives--they just want to use God to receive things--to get peace and joy and maybe even money. What is interesting is that the principles of God will work for anyone. There are many non-believers who know about the golden rule--and sowing and reaping. Many wealthy business men understand these rules and use them to acquire great wealth in their lifetime--unfortunately they spend eternity in Hell because they have not given their life to Jesus! If a "Christian" is just using the principles of God to better themselves, they may as well become a New Ager--! They should learn to meditate--they will make themselves calmer, they will receive a form of peace--(of course they will also invite demons to live inside them self!)

The point I am making is that the Christianity that Jesus spoke of was one of service--and not service to your church--but service to God. I believe their are many who give their life to Jesus very honestly--but then the cares of this world come in and they retake their lives and become only interested in what God can give them.

Try this. Instead of asking what God can do for you--ask God what you can do for Him! I guarantee that all the problems that seemed so big will wash away. God will remove any obstacle that is in your way when you are in His will. Our job every day as Christians should be to give each day to Jesus--to surrender our lives to Him and His purpose for our lives. We need to get in His will and stay in His will. Many of you know what I mean because at one point or another you were in His will. Perhaps things are not so good now because you may have gotten out of His will. And perhaps you have spent too much time trying to correct the problems you face with Godly principles. I would rather correct my problems with God Himself than with Godly principles--wouldn't you?

"For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."

So it is easy to get back on track with God. Start off again just like you started at the beginning. Perhaps you need repentance and confession--and then you need to completely surrender you whole life to Jesus. Honestly, from your heart--without expectations or conditions--honestly.

Pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I want you to be the Lord of my life. I repent of all my striving and my sin. I repent of my own will. Lord I know you gave me a free will--and I freely surrender my will to you. Lord I want you to come into my heart and do whatever you would with me. Change me in any way you see fit. Lord Jesus I want you to be my Friend again, my Savior again, and be the Lord of my life. I gladly surrender my life to your love oh God, You are my hiding place, you are my refuge and my hope. Come into my heart Lord Jesus and set me free. My life is yours Jesus--and from this day forward I will listen to you through the power of your Word.

Thank you Jesus!
