God was around for a long, long time before we were--make no mistake.. "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God." Psalm 90:2

He lived in heaven, where everything is perfect--I mean really perfect--!! (this is a really bad artists rendition of heaven) He had billions and zillions of angels and cherubim and seraphim and unbelievably awesome creatures whose only purpose is to worship Him and praise Him (and He deserves our praise) By the way--an angel as described in the Bible isn't like a little girl with wings--no way--an angel is an awesome creature--!

And then, we came along--but did you know that of all the creatures God made--only we are made in His image!? "And God created Man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." [Genesis 1:27]

We look like God! We were created to praise and worship Him, but also to have fellowship with God--friendship!! "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13). Adam, the first man had perfect fellowship with God..he walked with God in the garden..."And they heard the voice of Jehovah Elohim, walking in the garden in the cool of the day." [Genesis 3:8]

But God also gave us a free will. He wants us to choose to be His friend.. think about this..do you want to force someone to be your friend? God could do it if He wanted to, but of all creation--He gave us the free will to choose Him! God didn't create us to be slaves to Him! But Adam, the first man, turned away from God, of his own free will and chose sin--and so everyone born of Adam (which unfortunately includes you and me) are born sinners.. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12).
