The Boy Who Gave His Lunch

John 6:1-14

"After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do."

"Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?"

"And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would."

"When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world."

Now there was a young boy, who came one day to the sea of Galilee, and brought with him his lunch. he was simply willing to give to Jesus--all that he had--and the Lord was able to make a miracle happen.

These are the same ingredients for making a miracle happen today, in your life! First seek God. The young boy came in faith, he traveled, he stepped out in faith to seek after Jesus. Bring what you have with you--come prepared for your miracle--no matter how little you may have, bring it with you, the Lord needs us to be ready for His call. Be prepared to give everything you have! Don't hold back when Jesus calls! Do you think that this little boy was the only one who brought lunch that day? But he was the only one willing to step forward and give when he was asked! Once you have given all to Jesus--let Him take over!! You can't do the miracle--only He can! But having given all to Jesus--expect more than your greatest expectation! Do you think that the young lad thought that the humble lunch he brought would be used in such a mighty way?! That his humble contribution could feed 5,000?! Or that his act would be recorded in four Gospels and talked about with amazement 2,000 years later?! No, he simply came, gave his all to God, and let Jesus do the rest! The same holds true if you need a miracle today! We worship the very same Jesus who multiplied the loaves--

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (Hebrews 13:8)

Right now, lift your need up to the Lord--it doesn't matter that you are not in church, or in a prayer service. We are praying in agreement with you right now, that you will receive your miracle, your healing--whether it is physical, or emotional, or spiritual, or financial--whatever the need--Jesus sees it and desires to heal it! Surrender your problem unto the Lord,. and by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ--be healed!
